On February 8, 2022, the German NGO, Welthungerhilfe’s partner, Vaagdhara (Voluntary Association of Agricultural General Development Health and Reconstruction Alliance), launched an Organic Market Van in Banswara, Rajasthan — a mobile vehicle, which will act as a retail outlet for organic produce and will be parked in different residential localities in the city to promote organic products to consumers.
As many as 314 organic farmer groups with 1,600 farmers have come together under the NGO, Bhoomi Ka’s campaign, to adopt organic agriculture and are now directly bringing pesticide-free organic products like black kamod rice, gram, mung, tur, urad, pea, kodra, batti kuri, mal, etc, to consumers.
The van was flagged off by Mahendra Jeet Singh Malviya, Minister of Water Resources, Government of Rajasthan.
