The Indian Chamber of Commerce is organising (in association with APEDA) two Outreach-cum-Buyer/Seller Meets on Organic Food Production in North East India on 20th August, 2019 in Kohima, Nagaland, and on 30th August in Aizawl, Mizoram.
Objective of the Buyer-Seller Meets:
- The major objective of this initiative is to focus on the states of Nagaland and Mizoram as global destinations for quality organic food products.
- The business meetings would provide an opportunity to Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and farmer producer companies to interact with buyers, investors, and forge business deals.
- Help large and medium organic food enterprises to identify potential suppliers.
- To provide an opportunity to organic sellers to interact with large retailers to sell their products.
- Participation of government departments/organisations and sharing of their various schemes.
- To encourage food processing industries to realise the huge potential and invest in the North East.
Focus Products of the Buyer-Seller Meets:
Nagaland: King chilli, passion fruit, pineapple, pomegranate, guava, banana, ginger, turmeric, large cardamom, papaya, brinjal, cabbage, cauliflower, peas (green), onion, sweet potato, and some medicinal plants.
Mizoram: Dragon fruit, ginger, garlic, pineapple, chilli, black pepper, coriander, banana, oranges, black rice, guava, pomegranate, jackfruit, brinjal, cabbage, cauliflower, peas (green) and onion.
The business meets would offer an opportunity for national and international trade buyers to increase their understanding of organic food products of Nagaland and Mizoram by experiencing the states through farm visit programmes.

- One-on-one interaction with buyers/sellers
- Meetings with concerned govt officials
