The 3-day Mahotsav has many exciting facets to interest consumers, including a food festival, a film festival, a fashion show, a farmers’ haat and even a cooking competition.

Kissan Haat: The kissan haat will allow people to buy authentic organic products directly from farmers, as well as, interact with the latter.
Desi Cotton Fashion Show: A unique fashion show, called Gaba – Alternate Fashion, featuring desi cotton clothing dyed using natural materials will be held. The organisers have collaborated with fashion designers to create clothing that is easily accessible and wearable in daily life.
The fashion show will focus on promoting the value chain of desi cotton from farmer-to-consumer. The show, which will be held on November 30, aspires to bring slow and sustainable clothing into the mainstream and spread awareness about indigenous cotton.
The show will include a ramp walk, interactive displays with fabrics and clothing, a networking session for producers, designers and students, as well as, an organic marketplace, where people can shop.
Aai ki Handi: A competition called Aai ki Handi will be held for participants with old ancestral recipes passed down from their mothers and grandmothers. This competition aims to bring back lost recipes, forgotten ingredients, and promote nutritional home-cooked meals. The recipes collected from participants will be compiled into a book for food enthusiasts.
Aai ki Handi will be hosted on December 1.
Seed Festival: Local farming communities have preserved, shared and reused their indigenous seed varieties over generations. The Mahotsav will bring together seed savers, organic farmers and farmer breeders from all over the country with the motto of promoting our desi (indigenous) varieties for nutritious and productive crops. More than 200 seed savers from across India will participate, with more than 4,000 seed varieties across grains, pulses, rice, vegetables, fruits, tubers, etc! Consumers can buy these desi seeds as well.
