Aurospirul, an Auroville-based company owned by Dutchman, Hendrik van Poederooijen, has partnered with D-Alive, a Mumbai-based organic food products brand focused on diabetic-friendly products.
The partnership will see Aurospirul supplying organic stevia to D-Alive for formulation of its products.

D-Alive Health Private Limited was incorporated in 2017 and has been growing at 300% since inception. Its directors are 27-year-old Sarrah Kapasi, her father, Muslim Kapasi, and Alfiya Attarwala. Mr Kapasi is also Founder & CEO of Excel Productions Audiovisuals Private Limited (Excel Group).
Kapasi founded D-Alive after having been impacted by her father’s Type 1 diabetes-related issues in her early years. The brand is the first Indian diabetic food brand to have acquired the USDA NOP organic certification.
It offers a range of diabetic-friendly food products including sauces, nut butters, turmeric lattes, drink premixes, snacks, sweet bites, desserts, mithai, glucose gels, etc. The products are available at leading retail chains, as well, as on major online shopping websites.
Aurospirul is a social enterprise formed in 1997 with the aim of promoting wellbeing through food. It has expanded its cultivation activities to assume the role of processor and distributor of health supplements.
The Aurovilian company’s product range includes chemical-free fairtrade Spirulina (dried and value-added by way of capsules and tablets), NPOP-certified Supergreens: Alfalfa, Wheatgrass, Barley, Moringa; and NPOP-certified herbal extracts: Shatavari, Ashwagandha, Brahmi, Neem, Triphala, Amla and Stevia.
