The Mumbai Organic Fest, a non profit event, hosted its 4^th edition in November 2016, in Powai, Mumbai. With a mission to help farmers meet consumers without premium-nibbling middlemen, the event sponsored all stalls taken up by organic farmers. Organised by Praakritik, the event saw a host of organic farmers from across Gujarat and Maharashtra directly selling organic vegetables, fruits, honey, jiggery and ghee to organic-loving consumers. With a total of 150 stalls, the fest also featured various organic cosmetic brands, organic apparel brands, and eco friendly home décor.

The Fest assumed the ambience of a rural village to emphasise the authenticity of the produce being sold at the event. On the occasion, Dharmishtha Goenka, founder, Praakritik and convenor, Mumbai Organic Fest said, “While I was working on Praakritik, I came across many organic farmers who were desperately looking to connect with consumers directly. At the same time, I met people who sought authentic, fresh organic produce. That’s when I decided to create Mumbai Organic Fest and it has been a huge pleasure.”
