Organic trade fair, BIOFACH and its conjoined organic and natural personal care event, VIVANESS, were hosted from 13-16 February in Nuremberg, Germany. A total of 2,982 exhibitors showcased their organic/vegan/natural products to the 51,488 trade visitors in attendance. Pure & Eco India presents snapshots mirroring the exuberant atmosphere.
Stretching across a total exhibition space of 82,800 sq mtr, BIOFACH & VIVANESS 2019 hosted 2,982 exhibitors from 98 countries, and welcomed 51,488 trade visitors from 144 countries
33% of the trade visitors were from the retail sector, 24% were wholesale traders/exporters/importers, and 18% were manufacturers

A survey revealed 37% of trade visitors were interested in fresh products, 26% in raw materials and 24% in sweets and snacks
90% of the exhibitors were successful in forming new business relations and 89% were satisfied with the quality of visitors received
87% of exhibitors were satisfied with the overall success of their participation, with 91% confirming they were able to reach their priority target groups
There were dedicated sub-segments for Olive Oil, Wine and Vegan products
The maximum number of international visitors hailed from Italy, Austria, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Great Britain/Northern Ireland and Belgium
89% of trade visitors were decision makers responsible for making purchasing decisions in their companies
95% of the visitors to BIOFACH 2019 have already blocked their dates and have confirmed their attendance for next year’s fair
A Seed Festival was organised on parallel to BIOFACH to promote seed saving
Visitors study literature on varieties of crops indigenous to Germany
9,458 Congress participants received intelligence from 139 individual events
The fora at the Congress included Forum BIOFACH, Forum Sustainability, Forum Science, Forum Politics and Forum German Organic Trade. Delegates this year evinced keen interest in sessions on market statistics
The ‘Best New Product Awards’, which recognise outstanding new products in 7 categories, were conferred. SPEICK Naturkosmetik, Weleda and URTEKRAM won Best New Product awards in VIVANESS; and Käserebellen, Schrozberger Milchbauern and Georg Thalhammer were recognised for their Best New Products at BIOFACH
