The international seminar-cum-exhibition will take place on 21 & 22 October in Temuco, Chile.

The 2nd International Seminar on Organic Agriculture – Chile 2019 will take place on October 21 and 22 in Temuco, Chile (at the Catholic University of Temuco; main hall). The seminar will feature speakers and exhibits from Chile, Guatemala, India, Mexico and Brazil. Pure & Eco India is the media partner for the event.

Concurrently, the seminar will feature an exhibition to showcase organic products from the above countries. India will be represented by Mary Vattamattam of the NGO, The Timbaktu Collective, which promotes the organic food brand, Timbaktu Organic.

While Vattamattam, as speaker, will throw light on ‘Rural development through organic production’, as well as, ‘The role of women in organic agriculture’, her organisation will showcase organic Indian products as exhibitor.

The event is being organised by the Agroecological Organic Agriculture Corporation (AOA Chile) and Agromapu Business, in association with the Municipality of Padre Las Casas and the Catholic University of Temuco. Its objective is to generate exchange of knowledge and expertise among farmers, entrepreneurs, companies, academics and investors.

“This is our second seminar and we’re very pleased to receive participation from so many countries, as well as, support from IFOAM Organics International, and the Indian embassy in Santiago, among other esteemed institutions. We wanted the organic farming community in Chile to have an international platform for the exchange of information, products and services. AOA Chile will continue to strive in this direction year after year,” says Rodrigo Rojas Cheuquenao, president of AOA Chile and convenor of the event.
