ASSOCHAM (The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India), with the support of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, is set to organise National Conference on Plant-Based Food 2023.

The conference, to be hosted in Delhi’s Le Meridien Hotel on February 8, 2023, will provide a platform for leaders in the Food Processing and Nutrition sector, as well as, in the Organised Agriculture Sector, to share experiences and discuss challenges faced in ensuring food and nutritional security.

 

OBJECTIVES

The conference will focus on the following objectives:

  1. To make plant-based food available locally, as well as, globally.
  2. To strengthen institutional and policy environments, processes and incentives that foster appropriate forms of collaboration across plant-based food, nutrition-relevant sectors (such as food processing, health, education, etc).
  3. To promote PMFME, PMKSY and PLI schemes which have been orchestrated to help and strengthen the food processing industry, and small and medium agrifood industries, etc.
  4. To outline and strengthen the One District One Product (ODOP) Scheme, in regards to elevate indigenous food products and to strengthen their marketability.
  5. To give impetus to food systems’ globalisation while focusing on sustainability.
  6. To escalate the ease of credit/loan facilities to budding MSME food processors.
  7. To empower Indian food industries to cater to international markets by harnessing product development, production and distribution.
  8. To identify new business opportunities under the umbrella of ‘Plant Based’ or ‘Vegan Food’.
  9. Enhance the value chain of Plant Based Food Products and operationalise food producers and their units.
  10. To welcome business opportunities from both national and international gateways.
  11. To strengthen the food distribution system in order to eliminate food and nutrition insecurity.
